Kristina and Javon’s destination wedding was hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I have known these two for years and have done a few family sessions for them in the past. It was an honor to be asked to travel for their big day and of course, I said YES to being their photographer without hesitation.
The couple really loves the beach and the idea of a destination has always been their favorite. They knew they wanted to host a family event – their babies are 4 and 2 and they wanted the occasion to be fun for them too.
The ultimate goal was to have a relaxing and memorable few days for everyone who attended. It was a blast! The couple made it a four-day celebration, so I thought it was fitting to start with their rehearsal dinner pics!
Rehearsal Dinner
They had the coolest invitation and save-the-date! Their Save-the-date was a boarding pass and invitation was a passport booklet with all the wedding and resort information inside! I thought it was so creative and fitting for the wedding festivities.
The rehearsal dinner was really more of a welcome party for everyone. They held it on the pool deck and kept things laid-back and casual. With a yummy station-style dinner (the sushi was so good) and cocktails, everyone really just enjoyed one another.
Wedding Day
I adore Kristina and Javon’s children! They were seriously so much fun to photograph. They have adorable personalities and so many special family moments were shared between the four of them.
The couple had their ceremony outside with the most amazing beach view! It was a beautiful sunny day in the Dominican – a dream come true when you’ve always wanted a destination beach wedding.
After the official I Dos, there were some pretty epic sparklers at the edge of the aisles when they walked back after the ceremony! It was a really fun, expected touch.
After things got going for the reception, we snuck out for some golden hour/sunset photos. It was GORGEOUS! Once the couple shared this special alone time, it was time to join the packed dance floor!
I couldn’t have imaged a better day for Mr & Mrs. Anderson! So happy for you and your family, Kristina and Javon! I look forward to being a part of your family memories for many more years to come.
