Lindsay and Danny’s Destination Wedding in Montego Bay Jamaica was a slice of paradise pie!
I LOVE destination weddings and Lindsay and Danny’s was seriously gorgeous! Aside from some weather woes (I’ll get into that in a minute), the white sandy beaches of Montego Bay are to die for! The couple selected an all-inclusive Sandals Resort to host them & their guests for the big day. Everyone got to spend four glorious days enjoying beach, sun and snorkeling, paddle boarding, and relaxing in hammocks! It is seriously paradise!
Now, as I mentioned, we did have some weather issues. Jamaica is known to have unpredictable weather, so it wasn’t a total shock that we needed to rearrange a bit. We did a first look and family formals before the ceremony and could see some storm clouds rolling in but it typically rains for just a few minutes and it’s done.
Welp. Not for Lindsay and Danny’s day. Everyone was seated for the ceremony and she was about to walk down the aisle and the clouds opened up and it poured. Everyone had to run and find shelter in some nearby rooms. . Rained for a solid hour! Ugh. It’s kind of a worst nightmare for a photographer, BUT, also a really fun challenge. I’m a pro- I had this! Ha!
I felt worse for Lindsay and Danny than I did myself- but they handled it like champs! They were just so happy to be married. We ended up doing their portraits in the rain with family members running back and forth to cover them with umbrellas because we were losing light! Their beach ceremony ended up being in the complete dark but, all in all, it was an amazing experience.
Looking back, everyone can really laugh about it and the memories we ALL made are priceless! We were in paradise and they said I DO with everyone they love there to witness it and share in the sunshine and rain. I would do it again in a heartbeat and I know they would too!
After the wedding day was over, they headed to the South Coast of Jamaica to the Whitehouse Sandals Resort and kicked off their new season of life and Mr & Mrs!
